White Tara – The Divine Mother
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Goddess White Tara is the female personification of compassion. Born of a tear from the eye of Avalokiteshwara, literally her name means "saviors". White Tara represents the enlightened and liberating activity of all the Buddhas. White Tara embodies the motherly aspect of universal compassion. Her compassion for living beings and her desire to save them from suffering is said to be even stronger than a mother's love for her children. White Tara, the Mother of all Buddhas, is known for her swiftness in responding to the prayers of those who invoke her name. White Tara meditation practice is said to grant health, long life, fearlessness, patience, and peace.

In this 8.75” White Tara Sculpture, White Tara is seated gracefully on a lotus base in the Lalitasana posture. Her right hand is open towards us in the gesture of supreme generosity, signifying her ability to fulfill our spiritual and material needs. Her left hand is in the gesture of bestowing blessing, refuge, and protection. White Tara is clad in brocade, naked from the waist up, saves for the profusion of jewelry and crowned by a tiara. Her rounded face is surmounted by a mass of tubular hair. White Tara holds a lotus in her left hand and displays the gesture of charity with the right. The third eye on her forehead and four additional eyes, two each on her palms and soles, symbolize her omniscience.

Chenrezig – The Buddha of Compassion
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chenrezig is an enlightened being who is a manifestation of all Buddhas' compassion. Chenrezig is known the 'Buddha of Compassion'. Chenrezig usually appears as white in color with four arms. His first two hands are pressed together at his heart, symbolizing his respect for his Spiritual Guide, Buddha Amitabha, who is on his crown. Even though Chenrezig is an enlightened being he still shows respect to his Spiritual Guide. His first two hands hold a jewel, which symbolizes his own enlightenment. This mudra is indicating 'I attained jewel-like great enlightenment through receiving blessings from my Spiritual Guide Amitabha'.

His second left hand holds a white lotus flower. A lotus grows in the mud at the bottom of a lake, but its flowers bloom on the surface of the water, completely free from the stains of mud. By holding a lotus flower Chenrezig is showing that because he attained enlightenment he is free from all obstacles, and has a completely pure body, speech and mind. His second right hand holds a crystal mala, symbolizing that he can free all living beings from samsara and lead them to liberation. If we rely sincerely upon Chenrezig and recite his mantra with strong faith, temporarily we shall improve our realizations of the stages of the path, especially our realization of great compassion, and ultimately we shall attain supreme Buddhahood in Avalokiteshvara's Pure Land, the Pure Land of Bliss.

In this form, Avalokiteshvara, Chenrezig is shown in his popular posture.

Amoghasiddhi Buddha – The Fifth Dhyani Buddha
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Amoghasiddhi Buddha is the fifth Dhyani Buddha in order. His left hand lies open on the lap and the right exhibits the Abhaya mudra. Amoghasiddhi represents cosmic element of Samskara (Conformation). Amoghasiddhi is of green color and his recognition symbol is the Viswa Vajra or the double thunderbolt or Double Dorje. His attributes are power and energy that is both subtle and often hidden. Amoghasiddhi is the supreme Siddhi – the magic power of enlightenment. Amoghasiddhi always faces the North. He is the embodiment of the rainy season. Sometimes a serpent with seven heads forms the background as an umbrella. In front of his shrines, therefore, is found a small square pit which is meant for the snake. His vehicle is Garuda.

Amoghasiddhi is realization of all-accomplishing wisdom. The Tibetan word for Buddha Amoghsiddhi is Sangay Donyodtrubpa. The word Danyod means “meaningful” and the word Trubpa means “accomplishment.” So Buddha Amoghsiddhi means “whatever is meaningful and fruitful is accomplished.” Amoghsiddhi is also the complete purification of jealousy, which is a hindrance for both material and spiritual success. His activity is perfect accomplishment and fulfillment of meaningful aims. Furthermore, his activity removes ordinary daily hindrances such as illnesses and obstacles. This is why Amoghasiddhi's activity is meaningful accomplishment. Buddha Amoghasiddhi holds a Double – Vajra in the form of a cross in his left hand, which symbolizes that his activity pervades and touches all directions. He is green in color and he sits in the full lotus posture. The left hand of all five Dhyana Buddhas rests in the meditative posture of the changeless realization of Dharmata. Amoghasiddhi's right hand is in the Mudra of fearless protection. He protects all living beings from any mishaps, obstacles, and negative influences. So his posture is known as “the Mudra of fearless protection.” He is white which represents “without fault” and he rests in the center to the mandala and is on a lion's throne. Amoghasiddhi is green and resides in the north holding a sword representing the cutting of existence. Amoghasiddhi is often depicted in union with his wisdom consort Damtsig Drolma the Green Tara, who embodies the pure element of air.

In this 13” Amoghasiddhi Buddha Sculpture, Amoghasiddhi Buddha is shown in Abhaya Mudra.

Vairocana Buddha – The Origin of the Dhyani Buddhas
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The name Vairocana means "He Who is Like the Sun" or "the Radiating One." Vairocana represents either the integration of or the origin of the Dhyani Buddhas. His wisdom is the Wisdom of the Dharmadhatu. The Dharmadhatu is the Realm of Truth, in which all things exist as they really are. Vairocana's wisdom is also referred to as the All-Pervading Wisdom of the Dharmakaya. The Dharmakaya is the Body of the Law, or the absolute Buddha nature. Vairocana's transcendent wisdom reveals the realm of highest reality and overcomes the poison of ignorance, or delusion. His wisdom is considered to be the origin of or the total of all the wisdoms of the Dhyani Buddhas. Vairocana is usually located in the center of mandalas of the Dhyani Buddhas. His color is white, symbolizing a pure consciousness. Vairocana rules over the element of ether and embodies the Skandha of consciousness. In some systems, Vairocana is associated with the Skandha of form. His symbol is the Dharmachakra, the wheel of the Teaching, or the wheel of the Law. It denotes the teaching of the Buddha. Its eight spokes represent the Noble Eightfold Path, which Gautama revealed in his first sermon after his enlightenment. This symbol is printed around the border of the lithograph. Vairocana's lotus throne is supported by the lion, symbol of courage, boldness and an eager, advancing spirit. Vairocana's Mudra is the Dharmachakra Mudra, the gesture of turning the wheel of the Teaching. Because he embodies the wisdom of all Buddhas, Vairocana's Bija is the universal sound Om.

In this 8.5” Vairocana Buddha Sculpture, Vairocana Buddha is shown in Dharmachakra Mudra (Dharma Wheel Teaching Gesture) which denotes the teaching of the Buddha. Its eight spokes represent the Noble Eightfold Path, which Gautama revealed in his first sermon after his enlightenment.

Manjushri, whose worship confers mastery of the Dharma and he is considered the founder of Kathmandu. Originally, the Kathmandu valley was a lake where Vipaswi Buddha threw some lotus seeds. One of these seeds grew into a thousand petalled lotus flower from which shone a five colored light representing the five Buddhas.
